A Midsummer Night's Dream

  • Glasgow Botanic Gardens 730 Great Western Road Glasgow, Scotland, G12 0UE United Kingdom (map)

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PRODUCTION HAS NOW ENDED

“Now it is the time of night.
Now we Faeries, that do run, by the triple Hecate’s team,
From the presence of the sun, following darkness like a dream,
Now are frolic”

If you go down to the woods today you’re sure of a big surprise. There’ll be quarrelling lovers and theatrical mechanicals and, most of all, The Faeries - agents of chaos and change. Will the lovers find their freedom? Will the mechanicals get to perform their magnum opus? No one knows, because no one who travels into this forest comes out of it quite the same…

Bard in the Botanics is thrilled to present a brand new production of Shakespeare’s most marvellous and magical play. A celebration of our freedom of expression - the right to love who we want, create what we want and be what we want - this dynamic, colourful and joyous show will be the perfect pastime for a midsummer night.
