“Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown”

Henry IV has won the crown from Richard II but his country faces rebellion and his own health is failing. As the king prepares for war, his son Hal is living a life of infamy in the company of the notorious Sir John Falstaff.

Can Hal learn to face up to the responsibilities required of an heir to the throne? Will he ever be able to live up to his father’s expectations? And when the time comes, will he be able to choose between duty and loyalty to an old friend?

Adapted from Henry IV Parts 1 & 2, just four actors play out Shakespeare’s great historical and personal drama, bringing this powerful story and its vivid characters to life in the magnificent surroundings of the Kibble Palace Glasshouse.
